Wystawa najnowszych prac Agnieszki Grodzińskiej koncentruje się wokół autoprezentacji wizerunków ciał, których nośnikiem stały się powiększone wydruki kserograficzne. Chociaż można na nich dostrzec torsy, plecy, nogi, brzuchy, pośladki etc., to jednak zastosowana strategia powiększenia zaciemnia obraz na tyle, że nie tylko wzmaga wrażenie zapośredniczenia obrazu ciała, ale staje się również jego mistyfikacją. Pozbawiając reprodukowany obiekt cielesny czytelności poprzez ingerencję w obszar jego widzialności, artystka pokazuje i kwestionuje stereotypowe wyobrażenia na temat wiarygodności obrazu kserograficznego. Sam tytuł wystawy nakierowuje nas tylko pozornie w stronę procesów technicznych. Cielesne ciepło wytwarza tu bowiem zarówno maszyna, jaki i człowiek – choć każde z nich czyni to z odmiennych sobie powodów. W przypadku prac znajdujących się na wystawie maszyna kserograficzna wydobyła i utrwaliła swoim ciepłem kontrasty i samocenzurujące się zbiory wyczernionych punktów.

W 2009 r ukończyła Akademię Sztuk Pięknych (Uniwersytet Artystyczny) w Poznaniu.

Obecnie pracuje na Akademii Sztuki w Szczecinie oraz na Uniwersytecie Medycznym w Poznaniu. Współpracuje z Galerią Starter z Warszawy oraz z redakcją magazynu „artpunkt” (GSW Opole).

Stypendystka programu stypendialnego z budżetu Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego oraz programu stypendialnego Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego „Młoda Polska”. Laureatka Medalu Młodej Sztuki, konkursu Curators Network, Mocak, rezydencji artystycznej BANSKÁ ST A NICA Contemporary (BSC) na Słowacji.

The exhibition of the recent works by Agnieszka Grodzińska deals with the topic of self-presentation of images of the body. Although while looking at the enlarged xerographic printouts one may recognize torsos, shoulders, legs, belly, buttocks, etc., the strategy of enlargement makes the images blurred to such an extent that they appear to be a mystification. The artist, by depriving the reproduced physical object of its readability at the same times shows and questions stereotypical ideas on credibility of xerographic image, which is commonly associated with advertisement industry or activity taking place in the office space. Since the heat is produced here both by a machine and a human, the title of the exhibition only seemingly indicates the technological processes. The xerographic machine has extracted and has fixed with its heat contrasts and self-censoring sets of black points.
The new series of Grodzińska’s work contribute to the ongoing discussion on images and contemporary reflection on their status and condition. The presented images are characterized by heterogeneity, they are slipping out easy categorization. The controversial nature of these works has its source in combining their subject with ‘dirty’ aesthetics of xerocopy, as a result, paradoxically, the presented image of a body becomes more subtle. While confronted with such an image, being a result of technological and reproductive mediation, an eye needs time to accommodate; our perceptual mechanisms project on the blurred images of the body the motives that bring to mind landscapes or cosmic space. Thus xerocopies gain the status of a productive mean that indicates the practice of representation characterized by dispertion. They generate critical and valuable tension by questioning the idea of objective power of an image produced by technological means, since due to modifications made by the artist they are not easily ‘read’ by the viewers.

Agnieszka Grodzińska born in 1984 in Opole
She graduated from the University of Fine Artis in Poznań (2009). Currently she works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Szczecin and the Medical University in Poznań. She cooperates with the Starter Gallery and Artpunkt Magazine. She was a grantee in the program „Young Poland” organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and a winner of many artistic contests. She had many individal exhibitions: „Exhibited window.
