Twórcza i wspólnotowa moc niepowodzenia.
PORAŻKA. W kulturze sukcesu i nadproduktywności właśnie ona (porażka) jest przemilczana lub nadmiernie nagłaśniana w celu wskazania na słabość tego/tej, kto jej uległ. Liczą się zwycięzcy. Porażka odczytywana jest jako temat wstydliwy, to co przydarza się innym, nigdy nam samym. A przecież: „Przedziwna sztuka porażki nie tyle domaga się przewartościowania standardów orzekania o tym, czy ktoś zdał czy oblał, ile dekonstruuje całą logikę sukcesu i porażki, która przyświeca obecnie naszemu życiu. W pewnych okolicznościach niepowodzenie, przegrywanie, zapominanie, niedawanie rady, nierobienie, niestawanie się, nieposiadanie wiedzy mogą w rzeczywistości przynosić bardziej twórcze, bardziej wspólnotowe, bardziej zaskakujące sposoby na bycie w świecie.” (Jack Halberstam, Przedziwna sztuka porażki, Wyd. Krytyki Politycznej, 2018).
PORAŻKA. Może być formą oporu. Sytuacją likwidującą binarny podział świata, oddając głos lub jednocząc się ze słabszymi, niesłyszalnymi, bo przegranymi. I jeszcze drobiazg, każdy kiedyś PORAŻKI doświadczył, utraty, katastrofy, nieporadności i to nas łączy, i to może być łączące nas doświadczenie. To doświadczenie łączy nas i może być podstawą wzajemnego zrozumienia. Warto zastanowić się nad tym, czy porażka zawsze jest czymś negatywnym. Może właśnie w niepowodzeniach kryją się nieoczekiwane możliwości i twórcza siła.

ania włodarska [a.w.] – absolwentka Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku i kilku uniwersytetów. Inicjatorka projektów artystycznych, uczestniczka wystaw. Pracowała jako dramaturżka i asystentka przy spektaklach teatralnych. Pomysłodawczyni działań i projektów artystycznych m.in. „Lepiej to już było” i „Re-Akcje”. Współpracuje jako dydaktyczka z Uniwersytetem Gdańskim i ASP w Gdańsku. Badaczka „sztuki bliskości”, analizująca także performatywne strategie scenograficzne. W roku 2023 otrzymała stypendium artystyczne Marszałka Województwa Kujawsko-Pomorskiego.

The Creative and Communal Power of Failure.
FAILURE. In a culture that celebrates success and hyper-productivity, failure is either silenced or excessively publicized as a sign of weakness. Winners are the ones who matter. Failure is often regarded as a shameful topic, something that happens to others, never to ourselves. However, it’s worth pondering whether failure is always negative. In the words of Jack Halberstam, ‘The Queer Art of Failure’ (2018): ‘The art of failure, in a certain sense, demands a rethinking of the standards by which we judge who and what is valuable, meaningful, and productive… In certain circumstances, failing, losing, forgetting, unmaking, undoing, unbecoming, not knowing may in fact offer more creative, more cooperative, more surprising ways of being in the world.’
FAILURE. It can be an act of resistance, a situation that dismantles the binary division of the world, giving voice or uniting with the weaker, the unheard, the defeated. And here’s a little detail: everyone has experienced FAILURE at some point—loss, catastrophe, ineptitude—and this is what binds us, what can be a unifying experience. This shared experience may form the basis for mutual understanding. It’s worth considering whether failure is always something negative. Perhaps within failures lie unexpected opportunities and creative strength.

ania włodarska [a.w.] is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and several universities. She is the initiator of artistic projects and has participated in exhibitions. She has worked as a dramaturge and assistant for theatrical productions. She is the creator of artistic initiatives and projects such as ‘It Was Better Already’ and ‘Re-Actions.’ Collaborates as an educator with the University of Gdańsk and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. She is a researcher of ‘the art of closeness’ and analyzes performative scenographic strategies. In 2023, she was awarded the artistic scholarship of the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
